Holidays in Miami Playa on the Costa Dorada
The resort of Miami Playa is 35 km southwest of Tarragona, between the beautiful fishing village of Cambrils and the tranquil Hospitalet de l'Infant. The bright, fine sand, approx. 30 m wide beach, partly divided by small bays and lined with pine trees, stretches for kilometers to Cambrils.
The place has a typically Mediterranean climate with 200 days of sunshine a year and an average temperature of around 25 degrees in summer.
The most popular beach in Miami Playa is Playa Cristal. With a length of approx. 2 km, golden sand, crystal clear water and many beach bars offer all amenities for the whole family. There is a long boardwalk right behind this beach. Here you can find several restaurants, cafes, bars.
Those looking for quiet and secluded beaches will find a multitude of small bays with crystal clear water just 2 km further to the east to enjoy the sun.
Also worth mentioning are the 18-hole golf course Bonmont de Terres Noves (3 km) and the Port Aventura leisure and adventure park (15 km) between Salou and Vilaseca with themes from China, Mexico, Polynesia, the Wild West and the Mediterranean.
The small town of Montroig del Camp, just a short drive inland from Miami Platja, is ideal for a worthwhile excursion. The small chapel is worth seeing here, from which you have a wonderful panoramic view. Excursions into the hinterland, to Tarragona, the episcopal city of Tortosa or the charming landscape of the Ebro Delta (40 km south) are also recommended.
From Hospitalet de l'Infant, with its marina, there is a good train connection and it takes around 1.5 hours to get to Barcelona.
