Holiday with the family in Dénia, the gateway to the Costa Blanca

Dénia is located in the province of Alicante in the north of the Costa Blanca, between the Montgo mountain and the Mediterranean Sea. The resort of Denia offers visitors a coastline of almost 20 km. To the north of the city are the long sandy beaches, Les Marines, L'Almadrava and Les Deveses. To the south, the rocky coast of Las Rotas is interrupted by a series of bays, a paradise made for divers and anglers. Denia has a well-developed yacht/sports harbor and you will find all the necessary facilities for practicing water sports such as sailing, windsurfing, diving or sport fishing. Ferries run from Denia to the Balearic islands of Ibiza and Mallorca.

The town of Dénia has an eventful history as a Roman naval base called Dianium, seat of a Moorish Taifa kingdom and a Spanish margraviate. Denia's landmark, the castle above the town, was built by the Moors in the 11th and 12th centuries over an earlier Roman site and was continually expanded and rebuilt in the following centuries. The resort has a very good infrastructure. In Denia you will find small shops, supermarkets, banks, bars, restaurants and cafes that are open all year round. The weekly markets reflect the life and culture of the country. Medical care is excellent and the town has modern hospitals. Denia on the Costa Blanca is known as the town of Spanish festivals: the solstice celebration of San Juan, the running of the bulls at the port or the celebrations in honour of San Roque and many more.
