The town of Alcalalí (also Alcanalí) is located in the Valle de Pop, 240 meters above sea level, about 20 km from the coast, inland between Mount Seguili and the Carrascal mountain range. The name comes from Arabic. The cultivation of oranges, almonds and wine, plus the production of honey and basket-weaving are the basis of the economy.
