Most of our holiday rentals welcome pets. Dogs and cats should always be registered in advance. In many cases, an additional fee applies. Our tips will help you plan a stress-free trip with your pet.
Entry Requirements for Dogs
- EU Pet Passport: Valid passport with up-to-date rabies vaccination (WHO standard). Puppies: vaccination at least 21–31 days before entry.
- Puppies: First rabies shot from 3 months old. Younger pets allowed under special conditions.
- Health Certificate: Recommended from your vet for smooth entry.
- Microchip Identification: Mandatory for dogs; tattoos accepted if applied before 2011.
- Dangerous Breeds: Strict rules apply, leash & muzzle required, registration may be necessary.
Dog-Friendly Beaches in Spain
Dogs are generally not allowed on most beaches. However, some areas or times permit dogs, usually in quieter locations. During the off-season, rules are often more relaxed.

Dogs must be on a leash and wear a muzzle. On trains, they travel in a carrier in the luggage compartment. Preparing a transport box in advance is recommended.
