Holidays in Tossa de Mar
The holiday settlement Santa Maria de Llorell is picturesquely located between the two seaside resorts Tossa de Mar (3km) and Lloret de Mar (8km) and holidaymakers enjoy a picturesque view of the green hills and the Mediterranean Sea. The settlement has its own sandy beach, supermarket, restaurant, various community swimming pools and an internet café. There is parking and a small bar on the beach. The residential area is limited by a barrier and guarded by a parking attendant (when you arrive in Santa Maria de Llorell, you pay 10 euros per car for an access sticker to the settlement), so that not everyone enters the district or can go to the beach.
The romantic fishing village of Tossa de Mar is only 3 km away and has a fantastic wide sandy beach. The old town of Tossa de Mar is a listed building and is unique in its kind on the Catalan coast. The town's towers and city walls were designed to protect against pirate attacks. At the foot of the old town lies the new town of Vila Nova, here the tourist heart beats and there are numerous bars, restaurants and shops. In front of the new town lies the large Platja Gran beach, which is divided by the Tossa river on its edge facing the old town. A stroll through the narrow streets up to the lighthouse, which offers a wonderful view of the coast, is worthwhile as well as a visit to the Municipal Museum “Museu Municipal” with exhibits of the city history of Tossa de Mar and a collection of paintings.
